Follow the general directions, 2.3.2, above when opening the
TAR archive.
- Mint 17.3 - The tested build was done on Kernel
3.19.0-32-generic, 64 bit system. From the top directory one runs configure
with appropriate options. Choose one of the following (note: options start with
a double dash ``- -`` before the ''with'' and a single dash after the ``with``:
- configure -with-plplotlib
(this assumes plplot-5.10.0 or newer packages with new function names and
gnuplot-4.6.4)
- configure
(no options will use Gnuplot instead of Plplot)
- configure -enable-all-static
(this will use Gnuplot instead of Plplot and build static binaries.
- Mint 18.4 Serena - The tested build was done on
Kernel 4.4.0-78-generic, 64 bit system. From the top directory one runs
configure with appropriate options. WARNING: At the time of this writing, compiling
from source on Mint 18.4 results in a binary for program bcnv.c that will abort with
as segementation fault. Recommend installing the binary package compiled on Debian9.
If you want to debug this, choose one of the following (note: options
start with a double dash ``- -`` before the ''with'' and a single dash after the
``with``:
- configure -with-gnuplot5 -with-plplotlib
(this assumes plplot-5.10.0 or newer packages with new function names and
gnuplot-5.x.x)
- configure -with-gnuplot5
(will use Gnuplot instead of Plplot)
- configure -enable-all-static
(this will use Gnuplot instead of Plplot and build static binaries.
